Two beloved mascots took a break from hyping up their home crowds to bring some big smiles to students at John E. Flynn, A Marzano Academy last week. Rocky, the Denver Nuggets mascot, and Bernie from the Colorado Avalanche brought energy and excitement to the school children while showing off their acrobatic skills.

Students knew a “surprise guest” was coming, but nothing could top the moment they walked outside and saw Rocky and Bernie sprinting across the playground. The crowd of students  exploded with cheers and excitement.

Rocky showed off his skills by helping students practice his signature “behind-the-back” basketball shot, while Bernie brought the laughs by playfully tossing students’ shoes into the basket and giving hugs and high fives to all. 

Now when these students go to a Nuggets or Avalanche game, they’ll be able to point to the mascots and proudly say, “Hey, I met them!”
